After the 6-month licence period has expired, CSS policyholders have the option of purchasing Sonoa for a further 6 months at a reduced price. In this case, we will remind you in good time - from 30 days in advance - by email and app when your licence period expires. You can then extend your access directly in the app via the App/ Play Store. This is not a subscription, but a one-off extension.

Sonoa is a medical app that supports you in promoting restful sleep and a healthy lifestyle. With Sonoa, you have a "digital coach" at your side who supports you in keeping a digital sleep diary and guides and motivates you to improve your sleep behaviour and your sleep-related lifestyle step by step.
Is Sonoa a real coach?
No, Sonoa is not a real human coach, but a chatbot. A chatbot (chat + robot) is an automated and text-based dialogue system. Our chatbot Sonoa tries (similar to a real coach) to respond to your needs and habits in the dialogue, which can give the impression that it is a real human conversation partner; however, this is never the case.
How does sleep training with Sonoa work?
Over several weeks, you will learn all about sleep and sleep problems in a fun way with quizzes in knowledge lessons. You will also analyse your sleep patterns and optimise your sleeping times. Relaxation exercises, goals to increase your physical activity and a Mediterranean diet will also improve the quality of your sleep.
How can I share my sleep data with my doctor or therapist?
You can easily export your sleep diary as a PDF file and show it to your doctor or therapist at your next appointment. Of course, you can also simply show your sleep diary on your smartphone.
Can Sonoa help me with specific sleep problems such as insomnia or sleep apnoea?
Sonoa has been developed for people with insomnia. If you have a physical sleep disorder such as sleep apnoea, you should consult your doctor.
How do I get access to Sonoa?
Sonoa is currently only available to people insured with CSS. If you are a client of CSS and have supplementary insurance, you will receive 6 months' free access to the Sonoa app.And this is how it works:

What happens to my data?
We collect your data so that the app can provide you with personalised feedback and to improve your user experience. For this purpose, we also create usage analyses to determine which functions are particularly useful. However, we do not look at individual users, but only at aggregated and anonymised data. Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties. You can find all the relevant information in our app privacy policy.
Is Sonoa safe to use?
Quality and safety are very important to us. As a Pathmate Coach, Manoa is a registered Class I medical device and therefore fulfils the quality and safety requirements of Directive 93/42/EEC of the European Parliament and of the Council. All the data you record is stored on your smartphone in encrypted form. The transfer of data between the app and our server system is of course also encrypted. Our server systems are secured in accordance with the latest security standards and are only operated by certified Pathmate partners. Do I need internet to use Sonoa?
To use the app, you need a mobile internet connection (3G or better) or a stable WLAN.
Who developed the app?
The app is being developed by Pathmate, a team of behavioural psychologists, data analysts and computer scientists. Pathmate is also working with medical experts from the University Hospital Zurich to develop the app. The app is being scientifically monitored and evaluated by the university hospital.
